Biography

35+ years in the water industry including experience in Water Treatment Equipment and Water Treatment Specialty Chemicals with a prevailing focus on Water Process Solutions development. Mr. Shannon has authored training texts on water treatment chemistry including detailed discussions on corrosion fundamentals, scale and deposit inhibition and biological control. During his career, he has held Senior Product Management positions in Water Treatment at Calgon Corporation (Water Management Division), Baker Petrolite (ChemLink) and Schlumberger in addition to Commercial and Engineering Leadership and Mentorship positions in the International businesses of Calgon Corporation, Baker Petrolite, GE Water and Process Technologies and HALLIBURTON. While living in Shanghai for GE Water, he built an APAC Engineering Team from a few to people to over 150 with centers in Bangalore, Karnataka, India; Singapore; Sydney, NSW, Australia; Shanghai and Beijing. Upon return to the United States, Dan built a world class Water Process Engineering Team that provided process solutions to maximize water use efficiency for clients in drought stricken regions of the world.

Mr Shannon first applied his water process expertise to the oilfield at HALLIBURTON, as part of the Water Solutions business. At HALLIBURTON he developed projects on shore and offshore, in Brazil, Argentina, Angola and China. Now supporting accelerated development of the water knowledge base at Schlumberger, Mr. Shannon has lead the establishment a license arrangement with MYCELX for delivering environmentally and operationally beneficial technologies to the global Oil & Gas industry. IN addition, he has lead the acquisition of EVTN technologies for micro-footprint, macro-separations. Schlumberger is now leading the world in truly functional technology in treating the high viscosity waters in Chemically Enhanced Oil Recovery.
